I really don't know either...it just looks like a lutino male from the pix I found online. The females I saw didn't have the mask they were all yellow. Hope some one can chime in here that knows the mutation as I have been very curious since I first saw this stunning little bird.

I am really glad I didn't give him/her a really gender specific name. Delphi is out there enough to work for a boy too.

Oh my. I really kinda hope it's a boy!!!

It's so strange when you get a bird from someone with really no discernible background on the bird. I will get him/her dna'd at the vet but I am just itching to see what everyone thinks.

It really would make it easier too if I wanted to add another years from now-- I could add another male.

There is yet a third yellow mutation but this one is clearly different from the others described. It is a Lutino with red eyes and beautiful yellow feathers. The males do not show any blue, instead all blue feathered areas on a normal male are white in this lutino mutation. (**NOTE: Typically a lutino is a sex-linked mutation. This bird looks identical to a true lutino but has a recessive mode of inheritance)

Well if it is a boy it could also be Delbert...lol. Look at the pix I added in the budgie forum.

I would agree male based on what I read on the internet.

It it a male because of the white coloring on both sides of his wings and he should have white on the rump of his tail. As you can see in the picture the male has the white coloring in his wings and the female does not.http://www.affaviary.com/lutplet.jpg

http://www.littletweet.com/parrotlets_lutino.html well it looks like a male because the females don't have the coloration in there wings but you can go check out that website I think it has some good advice.:)

It look like male.
But the best way to know the sex,is bring to vet and do DNA test.

it is clearly a male in my opinion the areas that would be blue in a green bird are turned white by the lutino mutation gene
