Hi everyone -

Frankie usually gets sprouts mixed with seed and fruits and veggies and stuff on a daily basis. I am going out of town for a few days and plan on taking her with me. I was wondering if it would be okay to put her just on a seed diet for a few days since I won't have convenient access to store or make the sprouts and then go back to sprouts when I get home...or do you think it would harm her?

I don't see an issue with it, should I go away myself I'm looking to leave Midori with a good supply of seed and pellet mixes to eat. (I doubt I'd leave her more then 1-2nights)

I would make sure the mix is mostly grains, not so many high fat seeds. Better yet would be a combination of pellets and a dry mix. I would provide them in separate bowls. It's another good reason to get your birds used to pellets even if they are only a small part of the diet. Pellets are healthier than seed if they need to go on a dry food for a short time.
