Play Gym / Stands

I noticed in alot of pictures people using an old style building toy for kids.
I used to play with them as a kid myself but can't for the life of me remember what they are called!!

Its lengths of dowel & circular connections in various colors.

I'm looking for anything I can use since it is now yard sale season & being a born again student puts a little strain on the wallet ~ I thought after seeing the toy used by others it was a fantastic idea & bonus is you can modify or build on it over time to boot!

What is the toy called?
And also, what other childrens toys can you advise are good to use in toy making?

(I'm going to end up spoiling Midori rotten & before I even get her!)

I know what you're talking about... unfortunately I cannot remember the name of tem either. Though I'm not sure if the paint on them is safe for birds. I'm sure other members will know :)

After some web surfing i found it!

They are "Tinkertoys" and the newer ones were made of plastic (bad) but they are once again returning to making them out of wood (like they started back like in 1910)

It seems to be rather popular for bird owners too, and it should be safe since it is designed for kids (who eat it) but with todays standards who knows =(

Think I'll be hitting the yard sales in July to see what I can dig up!

Thanks for the link - I had looked at getting the HQ cage from them but they won't ship to canada =(
