View Full Version : Are ligustrum branches safe

Hi, does anyone know if ligustrum branches are safe to use to make my own perches? These branches are perfectly shaped for perches or a play gym.

I found this website (http://www.mdvaden.com/bird_page.shtml) that has a list of good and bad but doesn't have ligustrum on it.

Ligustrum is listed on toxic lists as a minor toxin and dermal irritant. I wouldn't use them.

ugh - that is so sad, these branches are so perfect.

Oh well, I guess I can use my hibiscus branches. Those should be okay.

Yes, Hibiscus is fine! Doesn't last as long as a harder wood, but for a P'let should last awhile.
