I thought I read that some people let their p'lets shred their corn husk. Do you guys buy that stuff special or is it just from your corn?
I just bought corn on the cob for our dinners from Publix, besides giving the bird some corn would it be okay to give her the husks?
If so do I have to wash them or anything?

I peel off the outer layer of husk and then cut the cob into 1 inch sections and give it my birds. They love to tear it up an then eat the corn.

Yes, the husks are safe for shredding. I buy dry corn husks sold for tamale wrappers, and they are fun shredders.

i would go for organic corn just to ensure that there is no pesticides or other nasty chemicals... sounds like a good idea! natural shredders (great idea reta)!
