I recently bought this item for Musette since he's a chub at Petco. Another reason i purchased it was because during the beginning May, they will be living together. They are already sleeping together and spending most of their playtime in Kiwi's cage.

That dang thing though won't fit on Kiwi's cage bars. It fits in Musette little cage, no doubt about that. The space between the bars are not wide enough. I tried tieing very tightly some string to support it, but it slacked to much even if it was tight or not. I'm thinking of a coat hanger, but wanted advise before I do this... now I won't make to where not birdie heads will get stuck or feeties... just enough to fit the food dish's latches and length of the dish (the dish would be covering up the homemade bar).

Besides coat hangers for any ideas to fit a dish to a cage?

maybe tie something from the edge of the perch to bars 6-8 inches above it, at an angle? that way the weight of it will hold it against the cage. get it? ha

Kumiko,

This is the only one I found that fits my HQ-type cage

Otherwise, I use the SS one that has it's own screw-on thingy or for fresh veggies/sprouts/fruit, I use the little paper plate on his platform.

Yes, I use the stainless steel ones as well. They last forever and are easy to clean.

I have one stainless cup holder in Cello's cage, and the smallest crock lock bowl. Both of those fit any cage. I've had problems too with some of the small hook on plastic bowls not fitting. I do have one that came with a small crate that works well in Cello's cage, and my husband modified two dishes I use for water and added wire hooks to them so they work now.
