Can/should I give my p'let any celery? I have some but wanted to check in with everyone to see if it's a good/bad idea. Also what would be a couple top veggies to feed to give the most nutrients?
Thanks!
Mine eat celery sometimes, but their favorites are sweet potatoes, kiwis, blackberries, strawberries, collard greens, green beans, squash, and apples. I change their veggies around every week because they seem to like a change in diet. I give them their veggies every morning and they get excited about it. I also sprinkle some milo on it to keep them interested.

Hi Stephanie! Celery is low in nutrition and quite high in salt. I would not feed it as a regular part of the diet. In addition to the above mentioned my birds love broccoli and kale which are both high in nutrition. I also give carrots and the tops, fresh grown wheat grass, peppers, whole pea pods, beets and blueberries.

It's fine to occasionally give a bit of celery in with other vegetables, but it isn't the most nutritious choice. The most nutritious vegetables include kale, collard, mustard greens, dandelion leaves, bok choy, arugula, broccoli, carrot, sweet potato. I always include several dark leafy greens, an orange vegetable, and a couple of others like zucchini, chayote, peas, green beans, peppers, etc. I feed about 7 different vegetables daily, chopped fine in the food processor so they can't pick out favorites.

Great, I'll try collard greens I've got, I've been giving him grated carrot and broccli, with some apple and all are a hit, he doesn't seem to be fussy. Thanks for the input :)

I offer my parrotlets celery - Nipper likes tearing it apart and the leafy bits - she sometimes takes a bath in the wet leaves - I don't think she consumes that much of it - she just has fun with it.... I offer it in full stalks ...

Food as a toy can be fun! Large collard leaves would be another good one, or a carrot with tops.
