I actually asked my breeder the same question yesterday! Yes they do go through stages just like people like trying to test limits and seeing how far they can go. As for actual ages that they go through certain stages, I'm not sure, I couldn't find that info, but I was interested to learn about that! If anyone else has more info I'd be interested to know too!

Mine have both been nuts since I got them, they are 8 now, when does the calm phase begin?

Seems to me that a hyper phase is mostly the little ones. Bigger birds are not as apt to be hyper. And then there are cockatiels...not very big but generally pretty layed back and very sweet.
