I found this issue of the EFA Nutrition News and thought it had some good information in it, for people, and maybe of interest for fids, too. Birdies need some healty fats in their diets, too, from either the oils or the respective seeds. Remember any mentioned dosage would be for humans, though, and for birds it would be much reduced.

Thanks for posting that. It's a good site with lots of information and just was posted today on Feeding Feathers. For recommendations on amounts of EFAs to feed, please check out the Feeding Feathers (Yahoo forum) files. Very important in the diet, but also easy to overdo resulting in too much fat.

I feed Cello either a single drop of flax seed oil or hemp oil, kept refrigerated, about 8 or 10 flax seeds whole (also kept refrigerated), or a tiny bit of freshly ground flax seed.
