Head feathers

Sorry this is off topic and concerns a cockatiel but had no other place to go ask.
Is their any type of disease that would cause loss of head feathers? This bird is nearly bald. But has been kept in with other cockatiels. I am thinking one of the others is doing too much preening. I ask abt disease as I am being given this bird and a couple others, but not sure yet whether to take them or not.

You could try the talk cockatiel forum. In the header there is a drop down menu and talk cockatiel is one of the options. Hope this helps.

Yes, I would ask on the Cockatiel forum. I have seen 'Tiels plucked bald on the head from overpreening by a flock member or mate.

If there is any way, Could you place the Cockatiel in a seperate cage by itself by chance ?

Thanks have reg over there now :) This is a lutio and guess it is a normal happening with them.
Yes I will separate her and see also if that is the problem.

Is the bald spot right behind the crest? If it is, it's a genetic trait.
