From Tania, Baby Lola's mom -

"Thank you all for your concern & shared hope of finding my Baby Lola. I am very sad and sorry to announce this very bad news. Lola turned up after she had already passed. She got herself into trouble and now she'll be waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge. :( Looks like she got her head/neck caught in something and she couldn't get it back out. She must have suffocated or broken her neck. She wasn't there long before it happened, there were no poops at all, it happened overnite so I did not have even a chance to rescue her sadly.

I am so so very heartbroken and grief striken. It hurts so much to lose a beloved pet. Lola had a special place in my home, she was very much a part of the family and a very loved pet.

She spent lot's of time out of her cage, was given almost daily warm showers, treats, lots of neck scritches and given full medical attention when needed. She was semi-flighted at the time, but has had the pleasure of being fully flighted. She would spend hours helping me type on the computer, chewing up my printer paper and mail, pooping everywhere or just hanging out with the family.

Sadly she lived a very short life, her birthday 1st would have been in 2 days, and I am missing her terribly. I loved her dearly with all my heart."

To those of you who supported me when I needed it most. I want to say thanks for letting me be a part of this great forum. I will be having a special burial and service for my Lola soon. I will bury her at my Dad's who has a nice back yard, as I don't. That way, I can always visit her and keep her nearby. I will forever remember her and I know it will hurt for a long long time. I wish I had never made that fatal mistake of not putting her away that last nite, I have learned a very hard lesson, the very hard and unfortunate way. Until that day, I will look forward to being reunited with my Baby Lola at the Rainbow Bridge.

Sadly & Sincerely,
Tania
Lola's Mom

Rest well, sweet Baby Lola. I share in your mom's grief, and hope that her heart heals soon, as you would want! I hope when that happens, she'll open her heart and home to another lucky bird. We'll all miss you!

Tanya, we're so sorry to hear such news. Our heart goes out to you and your family. We know she was a cherished member of your family and how well you took care of her. I can't get that picture out of my mind when she had her little leg wrapped up. You were a good mom and she knew it. Yes, you will meet again someday.

So sorry for the loss of your sweet P'let! (hope Tania is reading here) It's so hard to anticipate every bit of trouble these curious birds can get themselves into, in a very short time. Thanks for letting us all know through Kristen what happened.

Tania, I am so sorry about Lola. Please know that you gave her a good home and she choose you to be her mom. I know how much it hurts. I lost my litle Chuck almost a year ago and I still miss him. I am sure that Chuck and Lola, Toby and Keiko are chattering away in Heaven. I bet they are sharing stories of their humans like we do of them.

Hugs you my dear.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy on the death of your baby Lola.
I just read your thread because I, too, lost my female parrotlet Lola on Christmas Eve. I had adopted her two years ago when she had lost her mate ( who died accidently by a toy with a string which wrapped around his neck). I had a bachelor male at the time who was 12 years old and my friend though she may be happier with a new mate. They never bonded but co-existed in the cage together until my male was killed. I absent-mindedly left the cage door ajar; he flew to the ground and my terrier played with him and batted him around. He died at the hospital a day later of internal injuries. THen I bought another male and this time Lola and the male who was only about 8 months old ( Lola was about 7 ) bonded immediately. THey were so totally in love. Now, my heart is doubley broken - at the loss of Lola ( who who had been twice widowed and at the heartbroken male who is still calling for Lola ). Lola was a greenpacific parrotlet. My remaining male is a light blue one named Vinnie.
I also have a sun-conure and an eclectus.
It is very difficult to loose a pet. It is the loss of a family member.
My deepest sympathy.

Tanya,
I am so sorry for your loss. I too lost my beloved JoJo just a few weeks ago. I had only had him 5 weeks but he left a hole in my heart.
With love and blessings,
