This document from Phoenix Landing (Parrot Rescue Group) is really awesome. It has lots of photos and stories of all kinds of parrots enjoying foraging set up by their owners, home made toys with instructions, pictures of aviaries and bird rooms with plants, branches, trees, etc. Really awesome.

Cindy, I love this site - thank you for posting it! So many great ideas. I admit I'm a complete bird toy junkie, but had fun making 2 new toys for my parrotlets yesterday. I had a very generic swing where the frame was a all metal. I cut cotton t-shirt stripes and made it into a binkie swing. They haven't gone on it yet, but perch next to it and love to poke holes in it with their beaks (like they do when they're on my shoulder. lol I hung a ball with bell in it at the top. I also made a foraging toy with lots of coffee filters, some beads, and leather string. I haven't put this one in the cage yet, but hung it outside so they can look at it for a while and decided it's not scary, as it's pretty large in size. Thirdly, I took one side of an ice cream cone box and hung some t shirt knots, a loofah piece, coconut fiber, wood bead, etc. and strung it through leather laces....all of these were recycled from other toys. They played and played with this simple thing on and off today.
