View Full Version : Cheebee is loving the Soak mix

Made up some soak mix and Cheebee loves it.:D He also likes cooked hulled millet with carrots. So I'm happy it doesn't seem he's going to be too picky of a eater. Will have to figure out what food I want to introduce to him next.

Good going Cheebee! How about trying a little bit of dark leafy greens, like kale, collard, mustard greens, dandelion, or broccoli - minced very finely, and a very small amount at first stirred into the soak mix, gradually increasing?

My boys are broccoli monsters, they go nuts for it, and spinach too. Thats Cabo's fav

Can you give us the recipe for you soak mix? Mine likes broccoli too.

Sondra, check out some of the threads on the diet forum, and you'll see a grain mix for soaking or sprouting discussed several times.

Bigboy won't go near anything green.:eek: He's a weird one. :p He adores baby carrots cut into matchsticks. :) So spoiled - my fault! :rolleyes:

Reta thanks I did and boy does he like them soaked also got a few sprouted and he goes after them too. I started taking all his food out at night and in the morning he gets his soaked and also his cooked stuff and he is eating it more and more now. Then abt noon I put in his seeds and more soaked and sprouted. He really doesn't like it when the rice sticks on his beak :D

I love it when they get annoyed about this! LOL! It is sooo cute! Jack will shake his head and rub his beak on everything, making very irritated chirps. Too cute!

Yep you can sure tell with the hateful chirps and muttering like he is really cussing you out for having that mess get on his beak :)

Now that its starting to cool a bit here... I'll be making up a batch of my soak mix and freezing it. This will be Baby Boo's first time trying it... but she's a piggy and will eat anything, so I think she'll be just fine LOL
