I read on the conure forum of people emailing companies to ask for free samples of food. I had a slow weekend so decided to try for myself. I honestly can't remember all the companies I contacted but will post on here whenever I get a yay or nay so you can all get the freebies too. The ones who have said yes so far write really nice responses, the no's aren't too bad either so here goes :-

Yes

Goldenfeast :- emailed goldenfeast@verizon.net
Harrisons :- http://www.harrisonsbirdfoods.com/contact-us.asp

Lafeber :- emailed info@lafeber.com

Thanks lisap. If it's not too much to ask, do you mind posting the contact info for the ones that say yes??! ;) Thanks again.

I have updated my original message with how I contacted the companies and will put in the contact details for any others I have success with.

On the message I sent I basically told them what type of bird I had and how old she was and just asked if they provided samples. As we have to pay so much for some of these foods its so nice to get the samples so you can see if you are wasting your money, I can garauntee that whoever Gizmo likes best and if its a good food I will continue to buy the product.

Hey Lisa, I emailed
Kaytee: http://www.kaytee.com/contact_us/

I already use some of their products, but asked about free samples of their seeds and handfeeding formulas.
I'll let you know what the response is.

Nice to get things for free, but there are some foods I would never feed, free or not. Harrison's has a good product, but people with mutations still need to be aware of the problems feeding supplemented pellets to P'lets.

My two aren't really taking to the two kinds of pellets I've given, so I'll likely go back to feeding Harrison's Mash and mix it in with the seeds. I feel they at least get some better nutrition this way, than to just eat seeds. Reta, you'll be happy to know that Emmie has taken to sprouted seeds and beans. :)

I got two more replies today one from Zupreem basically said they have small pouches so try them!!

The other I have not followed up on yet but was Hagen and they gave me the name of the person I need to call to get free samples it is Melanie Allen and her telephone # is 1-888-294-2436

Feel free to try her, I will I just haven't had time today, what with a hospital trip (a vcug for my 8 year old which she was amazing for) and girl scouts for her also.

I think Kaytee may have been one of the ones I contacted but if you hear from them before I do let us know their response.

I must admit though, getting things for free sounds nice because I'm broke as it is. :D ;) :p

I admit it it I'm a cheapskate as I spend all my money on my birds so need all the help I can get :p ;) :D

I just keep hearing the mantra "buy it you know your babies will love it"
