Mr. Peepers said HELLO on Saturday - I couldn't believe it. He said it twice more on Sunday!
I'm hoping he keeps it up - I tried all weekend to get him to say it again and he just said it twice more on Sunday.

The first time I had just taken him out of his cage, put him on my shoulder and I couldn't believe my ears -
It was very mechanical sounding but was definitely 'Hello'

Yesterday (Sunday) he said it when I first took him out of his cage and again a little while later -
its not a clear Hello but a robot sounding Hello.

None of my birds have ever talked since the one we had when I was a kid (a Budgie).

I'm ecstatic to say the least !!

We've estimated his age to be approximately 8 months old - does anyone know if this is around the time P'lets exhibit talking ability?

They can start talking earlier...depends on how much you talk to them. That's the key. All parrots have the ability to talk but I guess some just don't want to!

Such fun! I keep thinking that Bitsy will surely talk, because he chatters to us all the time. I'm hoping.....
