Now, how would this work for 2 birds that are paired?

I wanted to get this so behaviors could be taught, Kiwi and Keiko won't get bored, and they fly over on command that way they could be flighted.

I read thru the book and you will have to train Kiwi and Keiko one at a time. My whippet ate the avia cake treat that came with the kit. He loves bird seed.

What will happen when they hear each other screaming and don't want to cooperate? Does that happen with those of you who have two birds that are paired?

I haven't tried clicker training mine but I just know it would be hard with both out as they interact with each other constantly. I'd assume one would have to be put in another room where they can't hear each other ( in a darkened room or with the cage covered ??) - Although personally I think this might be stressful on them.

I believe Andrea has posted she has had success with clicker training pairs with both present. Its worth a shot.

I was actually just going to rip out the page of the book that says "Seperately" because I have no idea what Keiko is capable of without Kiwi present. :p

I will try it with them. Thanks!

I have worked with dogs, and I know that dogs are capable of learning with other dogs, so why not birds? I would think it could be even moreso with parrotlets since parrots like to mimic actions and words. The clicker book is excellent. I do a little bit of clicker work with Emmie and my little dog together. They both seem to enjoy it.

It wouldn't be impossible by any means. But just a bit harder with 'most' birds - Most birds tend to pay more attention to each other when together than a training regimen. So it would depend on the birds and the circumstances.

My birds for example would not pay ANY attention to training if together :p

Kiwi pays total attention on me still. He hasnt really changed at all since Keiko was first put in the cage with him. He's still my loveable birdie bird... its just that I don't have to spend much time with him anymore... but when I do, He ready full attention. He's not going to be difficult.

Keiko is! When Keiko is alone with me though, he doesnt except any treats and just stands still fearful of anything. When he's with Kiwi though, he is playful and is afraid of nothing... and is a eater!!

I'm going to try it with the both of them. The kit should be coming in a few days now. ;)
