I am considering purchasing a parrotlet. I have heard big personality for a little bird. I have heard aggressive but can be tamed. I might buy one from a breeder in the area. She says they are hand fed and I would get it as a baby. I have heard that they can make great pets. Considering I might get a hand fed baby, does that meant that the bird will become a one-person bird, or could it become tame around family members if we all spent time with it. Any other information for a newbie would be appreciated.
Thank you

Parrotlets can be friendly with anyone that gives him attention. They are great pets. They can be feisty, but they are also sweet and fun to watch. We adore our little girl, Chipper!
If you get one, get a very large cage, they really need to have lots of toys and room to fly and jump. I have toys all the way to the bottom of my cage for Chipper. She plays with everything. Bells, wood and string toys, swings, and perches of all kinds. The bendable rope perches are great! You need all kinds. The bar spacing of the cage should be 1/2 inch. I ordered a great cage from Kings Cages. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/Sally11/Newcageoutside.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/Sally11/Newcageinside.jpg
