Sadie loves birdie kabobs! I bought some bamboo skewers and threaded some blueberries, pieces of red pepper, brocolli etc on one. I put it corner to corner in her cage with a clothes pin on each end on the outside to keep it from sliding. Well, she had it pretty much destroyed in short order. I do not know how much went inside her but she sure had fun tearing the pieces off. I think I will give her one everyday now to help keep her busy. :)

The skewers can be fun for a lot of birds. You can mix them up too, and sometimes thread them with vegetables and fruit, sometimes with toys. They're great for quick toy-making!

That is great. They do love having food in different places, foraging etc. That is great Raiven!

Oh wow, are these kabobs made for birds? Where can I find them? I'm trying to get creative to get my little girl to try new foods. When you say red pepper, are you referring to bell pepper or hot pepper? I'm assuming bell? I did stuff some little treats in her rope and wood kabob for her to find, and she found them. She loves that toy!

I just make them from bamboo skewers you can buy at the grocery store. Lay it crosswise and fasten on the outside with a clothespin or bulldog clip. You can buy stainless steel ones for hanging in a cage as well.
These little guys are going to town on theirs:

I give bell peppers on the skewer but do add a little fresh hot pepper to her greens mix. Just a thin slice.
Foraging gives them an extra fun activity. :)
