Okay so my partner got me a gift for my birthday! He got me a Russian Tortoise! I've decided to name him Gazpacho!

He's been set up and getting used to living with me. He's not comfortable with me yet, but he will take food from my hand, so I think that's a good start for only having him 2 days.

I love my wittle tortoise!

Nice! We actually have a native species of Box Turtle. Some kids found it and were walking around with it, ended up giving it to my husband. He's loose in our big yard somewhere. We only have seen him once in three months, out on the lawn. He/she can't get out of our walled garden, but there are lots of flower beds and a vegetable garden to hide in. Just as well with the dogs. Wish I did see the turtle more often, but at least he's safe from the kids in here, probably the worst threat.

hahaha yes it was Petco once again, but my partner has been wanting a tortoise or turtle for months... so it was a good excuse!

I Catfish have a problem. I hoard animals adn devote my time to cleaning their poop up for them and feeding them yummies all night!

Gazpacho is such a character! He eats from my hand and lets me scratch him, but when I take him out to the grass to get some fresh air and eat some grass, he gets territorial and charges me. I got chased by a 6 inch tortoise across my yard LOL. People driving buy thought I was nuts!

Oh and I got a decent entry level job! So soon I will begin the "build a climate controlled greenhouse" fund. Now half will go to the birds and the other half will go to the tortoise(s). I really enjoy this new job (it's actually as an office rep for Farmers insurance at the Help point center). Love it there! Everyone is so helpful and I feel like I have to opportunity to really advance in the business (which I have always wanted to do... work for a huge company).

Catfish...congratulations on your job...sounds like you are enjoying it. Well done. What lucky animals to have the fund devoted to them as the big bucks roll in!

Pado -- I laughed out loud to your response to Catfish's new addition! You guys keep me entertained.
