:D My new little blue boy came home Saturday. He is 12 weeks old and was completely parent raised. He is terrified of everything. He is eating and pooping well thus far. He is in a "sleep cage" right now awaiting my delivery from WCparrot. He is in one of the upstairs bedrooms away from the others.
I am currently "visiting" 3 to 4 times a day to check food , water and sitting next to him talking and singing. Any advice would be appreciated.
I will post pics soon, and I think we have choosen the name Luigi, Little Louie for short.

I would keep up with the short- positive interactions. Keep him wanting more. ;) That way he might put you on his not so scary list. haha.
Good luck.

That is what I had to do with SweetPea when I first got her, but she was an only bird for awhile, so her cage sat in the middle of the den where I could walk past every now and then. She could hear me taking, and preparing snacks for her. Then my daughter started holding her for 10-20 minutes at a time every afternoon. And when she did good, she was given a small part of millet.

I had him out today for a few minutes, to clean cage and he stayed on my finger for 2 minutes. He is still very afraid of hands and will not yet take treats from me. He will eat the millet from his food bowl. I am going to try to get pics of him tomorrow.

Congrats on your new baby boy! Can't wait to see pictures. It sounds like you're doing well and visiting him on a regular basis and just remember to take it slow. Time and patience are always key but so well worth it. Good luck. I love the name.

He is eating and Pooing. Really digging sprouts. He is still terrified of me. I open his cage door and talk and sing and if I try to put my hand in the cage he screams, flutters and runs away. So... I just visit by his cage 3 to 4 times a day and talk to him. He still will not take food from my hands. I am taking it really slowly.

Pam -- he is quite handsome...I'm sure he'll come around soon. You're being very patient and that is most important.
