I tell Chipper what I am going to do. Give scriches, rub her beak, (I call that "Beaky," Step up, jump, "Let's go home" etc. She seems to really love this. If you stick your finger out to scritch, sometimes it seems scary to them.

Chipper loves to just know what is next. I explain to her what I am doing, and she waits for the scritch, etc. I was wondering if you all do this. Doing this, singing, scritches, hugs and calm music all make her a sweet girl. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v492/Sally11/hairsurfingPICT0977336.jpg

I'll have to try that, Sally. Bitsy is just a baby, but he does NOT like scritches or close loving. I hope he'll come around. I do tell him - let's go to your cage; Bitsy, you want to come play?; etc. Any suggestions from anyone about how to introduce him to scritches?

No good advice here but thought I'd let you know I'm dealing with the same thing with my newly acquired 1 year old male. I'm gonna try the "scritches" introduction too. Not that he'll know what that means at first but...

I say "Scritchy." Then I scritch. She didn't like it when I first got her, NOW, she loves it. Try it, Chipper loves it under her little beaky! Try saying "Scritchy" then do it. They warns them that you are coming at them to do something nice. I like to scritch Chipper on my chest. She just lies down and loves it.
