So, I figured it was just the new environment and the move and everything that had Marlie acting the way she was but she just doesn't seem right. She's not very active at all. She responds to her name most of the time and always wants to come out and see me but when she's in her cage she just stands around staring or eating. Scooter is much more active in comparison. She's much smaller than Scooter too. My aunt and I are getting sort of worried about her. She just isn't progressing the way I would like her too. I have them on a good diet and give them as much attention as I can. I believe she is beginning to molt. Her hatch date was January 8th of this year. I'm just worried because she doesn't seem as healthy as Scooter. What can I do to make her happier?

hello,
have you tried moving the cage to a different part of the house, and switching the cage up. Montgomery was getting a little lethargic this last week and I got rid of the usual perches and put in all new places for him to stand. It took some getting used to for him, but he became much more active. :)

well, i'm living at my aunts for a few months and she has an evil dog and cat, so the only place they can be is in my room. i think i will move them around my room tomorrow.

The first thing I would do, if you have concerns about her health, is to bring her to an avian vet. As you know birds hide their illnesses very well, so if you are seeing something that makes you worried it is best to have it checked out.

She's doing much better now that Scooter has passed. I think that Scooter was picking on her a bit too much. Possibly because I still don't know if Marlie is a boy or a girl and Scooter was probably going through puberty. But I'm very pleased with how she's doing now. I will be taking photos to this bird show on Sunday and asking a few breeders their thoughts on her sex. I've posted about it on here before, but she's beginning to molt so I will take new post-molt picture in a month or so and post them. Thanks a bunch for asking.
