A hard-working woman has taken on an enormous task. Karen Davis is the founder of an advocacy organization and sanctuary for chickens, turkeys, ducks and geese named United Poultry Concerns. These birds are at the bottom of human consideration with few protections. They suffer horrendous abuses in factory farm situations. these articles are very upsetting, I read a book once that tried to convince me to go vegan by illustrating in the finest detail exactly what goes on in the industry. It's unfortunate that there is not anything being done in an immediate fashion. And it's unfortunate that I cannot give up meat, but I try to help wherever I can whether its petitioning, donating,volunteering and boycotting the worst of the worst.
