Usually when I come home Scooter makes these whining noises and nibbles at my fingers to feed him. Last night when I came home he wasn't whining or nibbling just chirping happy to see me. I'm almost positive this is because he was eating on his own. I wanted to make sure he had gotten enough food though and gave him his baby food anyways. He only ate about a third of what he usually does. He's eaten anything I've given him so far, but will he continue to eat his baby food if I give it to him? I heard at some point they will start to refuse to eat it. This morning he is also not whining. He's sitting next to me eating his seed mix and an apple. Should I just stop completely now?? Thanks so much!

He started whining for food about half an hour ago, so I fed him. Maybe once a day for a little while? I'm so confused.

I'm not experienced in this area at all but personally I would keep offering it to him as long as he begging. He may just be slow to mature and needs that reassurance through feeding.

I heard babies being weaned by themselves are slower to wean because there is no competition from the other babies for food, so the need to find his own food isn't a big.
