When just getting a baby, when is a good time to start the bonding process?
He is healthy, active, and eatin a lot!! He is clearly healthy, but is not 2months old yet.
Thanks! :D

A bird has the ability to bond with a new mate or with its humans at any age. The "bonding" process will begin upon being welcomed into the new home, trusting that the new care giver will be patient, loving and understanding and learn about parrot training using positive reinforcement only.

Thanks. I was going to do the 45 day quarentine. I will bond to with him while this quarenting is in progress to human tame him, but I was wondering he wouldnt be ready to bond with Kiwi when the quarenting ends.
Thanks...and I will be patience :) :p ;) lol

Ohhh...I see! Yea, you should definitely work with him while he was in quarantine. Just be gentle and slow and understanding with him, especially if he is not tame. He may very well be ready to meet Kiwi after quarantine :)
Yay! Please update me, I am having a bad memory tonight. Is Keiko with you now? Is he not tame?

Yah, he is with me right now. When I first got him on Saturday, he wouldnt let anyone touch him. I actually had to grab him lightly to get him out, but once out he was very nice. He flew away alot and still does, but I have been doing the ladder method with him, but he quickly looses interest, but he knows how.
But when he is sleepy, he's a little baby! :) He likes to snuggle in every crack or corner of your shirt or hair. He loves stritches too!!

Okay, if you have to grab him to get him out, don't do it. Just train him while he is in his cage, it will make it less stressful and actually speed up the process.
