We use 'Harrison's Adult Fine' pellets for the base. This is suplemented with fresh sprouts, fruits, vegitables and seeds.

you can also opt for a more naturual (unfortified) pellet. these allow convenience and variety, without synthetic vitamins to worry about. there are three very good brands that i know about:
TOP (totally organic pellets)
Goldn'Obles (made by Goldenfeast, also organic)
and Foundation Formula (also organic and comes in regular or spicy).

pellets can be a welcome addition to a diet and quite healthy. fortified pellets are not for all birds. they have noted that eclectus also have issues with synthetic supplements.

S&H,

The concern with parrotlets is that they are from a dry environment and therefore their system is set up for low water intake. The pellets make the birds drink more than they normally would which causes kidney damage. There are several articles on this - there are links somwhere on the site.

Personally, my experience with harrison's pellets has been good. We use it as a base and add variety on top.
