Teaching them to talk???

How easy was it for you to teach your p'let to talk? I would love to get mine to, but so far no luck. My conures talk though.

Parrotlets can be trained to talk. If you have two I doubt you will have much luck. Our boy is very vocal but since he hangs out with his sister, we were never able to train him to talk - some sounds get pretty close though.

Hi, my parrotlet, Wendell is a real talker...I never made any specific effort to teach him as I had been told that they did not talk. Surprise! Wendell began talking at about 5 months and hasn't stopped. His vocabulary at 14 months is about 40 words and 8 or 9 phrases. A few examples are: He says "good morning wendell" - whenever I take his cover off, when he sees me going downstairs, he says ""going downstairs" - when I introduce a new veggie or treat he asks "is that good". Wendell associates actions with phrases together and constantly amazes me. He seems to be able to mimic rather than learn words as I occasionally hear him saying something that I have only said a few times around him.....

Paulie says(and plays)peekyboo. He also says:
kiss kiss [this can go one for awhile]

It's time...night, night [this as we cover him for the night]

Hi stinky, what you doing.
And just one time I heard him say "I gonna get you fuzzy butt"
As you can see he say lots of things (I write them down... and the list keeps growing!)
