This is Sonny, my lineolated parakeet.
I don't know his exact hatch-date, but I weaned him from handfeeding about three weeks ago... so he must be around 2-3 months old.

Linnies are such wonderful birds... they are very sweet, calm, quiet, and relaxed. It's just so amazing, and words cannot describe how different they are. They are just so laid back, but full of personality.

This is an article from July 2007 Bird Talk Magazine about them:

It's very informative if you are not familiar with them.

Your Sonny is so cute!!! I've been researching linnies, and they sound great, but so far I haven't been able to find any breeders here in Northern California!! Anybody know of a secret source of linnies around NCal?? I can be discreet... :)

It's actually called a Creamino, but it's pretty much the same thing as Lutino.

Thanks :)
I have heard a ton of other people say there aren't very many breeders in California... BUT I have met a few people who live in California and got them there.

I will ask members of my linnie forum (http://www.lineolatedparakeet.net/forum) if they know of any breeders in your area (San Fransisco, right?)

Beautiful bird. I almost got a Linnie instead of Hadji. Hadji's breeder also breeds Linnies, Bourkes, budgies, and conures. He to was telling me that they are laid back, sweet loving and very comical. Please keep the pics coming :)

San Francisco area, yep. Actually a bit closer to Berzerkley :) .
Thanks, Nick! If it's the same Yahoo linnie forum I looked at, they had a recent thread on just that subject. The closest anybody could suggest a breeder was San Diego or Oregon! (That's hundreds of miles and many hours a trip for the geographically challenged...)

I just went to Petsmart today and they had a green linnie there (I'm in Ohio). I was so surprised to see it there I had to do a doubletake! So maybe there are some hiding in your local Petsmarts...?

Nope, not the same Yahoo Group... it's a forum just like this site, that I setup myself :)

I believe some people actually have seen quite a few linnies for sale in Petsmart and a few other pet stores.

I just thought I'd share some more photos of him :)

Linnies love baths/water... every single one of 'em. ;)

I also have a video of him bathing... which I will be uploading to YouTube and sharing here, sometime over the weekend. If you search "lineolated parakeet bath" on YouTube, you will see other peoples' linnies. It's so cute :)

Here are a couple more wet linnie photos from other people:

Hey Nick,

Glad to see someone I know over here. I signed up here awhile back, but forgot to come back and post lol. When I saw the subject I was going to tell you that you should come over to Lineolatedparakeet.net/forums to talk about your linnie and then I realized who you were lol.

Lol.

I'm glad to see you on here, also :)

I remember you mentioned on the linnie forum that you may be getting some parrotlets, so I was looking forward to possibly seeing you here :)

Yeah. I have found a person about 30 min away that was advertising them online. So I'm going to see what happens with that, as well as keep looking for other breeders in my area. I'm so upset right now, I tried to go to the linnie forum and it's still down :( :( :(
