I picked up all sorts of fresh foods for Kiwi today. I have a few questions though.

Do you have to cook Collard Greens??
I would chop up fine ginger right? I don't even have to cook it (sorry not a chef, lol)?
I got fresh green peas as well, still in the pod. Can I feed Kiwi the pod and the peas (he would have to get to the pease by eating the pod first)? Would I cook it as well?---Besides this, is Kale good for little p'lets?? I picked up some Kale (it was about $2.69) I was unsure about getting it. None of my family like Kale so if not, I will be taking it back with recipt in hand tomorrow to verify the date of purchase.___Never Mind, I have looked at that list the other day that I have made and it said Kale. Just goes to show that I don't look back on stuff that I spent time on to create. lol. Would you cook Kale as well??

Thanks!:D http://i107.photobucket.com/albums/m294/rebeccak3_suekey/hug99.gif

Kale and collard greens are both very nutritrious. I feed them raw, finely chopped and mixed with something else - a cooked food, or soaked or sprouted grains. Peas in the pod are fine - will he tear into it? Let us know! Or you can feed him the shelled peas. They are fine as part of the diet, but not as nutritious as some other vegetables.

Ginger you would just want to use a tiny bit, as you would if you were making a stir fry for yourself. A little goes a long way, it's a seasoning. Yes, I would mince it finely.

Sounds like Kiwi will be trying out some new foods! They sometimes are slow to change as I'm sure you know, but if you keep feeding the new food, he will get used to it and eat it.

I jsut want to say that Kiwi dug into the greens I gave him. He was not so excited about the Kale, Collards, and pea pods though, but he did eat them. He was for broccoli though since I do give him that almost everyday! :D I gonna keep on giving. Right now, I am letting his 15 Bean Soup and chopped up ginger that I bought cook in a pot right now.

:D Thanks for all who helped! I am gonna try that layering idea someone brought up.. in the thread, I think about Veggie storing.
