amount of food

Im always scared that im not feeding my parrotlet enough in one day.. how much on average should i feed him and what?
I usually give him about 1/4 cup of seeds and a separate container of veggies and fruits but im never sure if he actually eats his those.. i usually just see him throw stuff out of the container and im worried that he might not be eating it at all. :(
i just want to make sure that he's healthy and eating and what not..

how much do u feed ur parrotlet? and how do u know if it's eating healthy?

Do you regularly weigh your bird? That can certainly help in determining how much and what he/she should be eating. My bird usually weighs between 30 and 32 grams, but some sources say they should weigh 35 grams. My bird gets more food than he eats and also quite a variety (about 1/4 cup seed mix, 2 Tbsp pellets-which he eats, piles of egg food and dried greens, raw veggies). I'll admit that I probably should feed him more things like pasta, rice, beans and cooked meat. I think they'd put a bit more weight on him. Either way, my birdy looks great in my opinion!
