It's been busy here so I'll be gone for a while afte today most likely until mid december. I have a 20 page packet due monday, 2 tests monday, practice s.o.a.p. notes due wed, and hypertension case study due thursday. I've also been working on a take home test, spent 4 hours on 35 multiple choice the other day and I'm only half way through w/ the test. I'm also still working on my research paper over precocious puberty in females for my lifespan nutrition course and for WIC as well as a reasearch paper over hyperthyroidism. I've also begun studying for finals which are in a month..... PLUS I have to take the GRE still and prepare my application for the internship and grad school. I'm on my 6th year of university because I kept switching my degrees.... pre-vet, biology, and to nutrition... and the ironic thing is, I completed my biology degree by going to nutrition but I can't get the degree unless I switch back~ so needless to say, I'm S.I.C.K. sick sick sick of school.

AND to top it off one of my bottle raised cats is sick. We've started him on baytril due to decreased lung sounds in his right lung w/ a persistent cough... if no improvement in 6 days he will have to have x-rays and most likely hospitalization, IV fluids, IV antibiotics, and nebulizations.

So I'm off to finish my laundry list of things to do and hopefully not die under its weight. :p

I know what a pain school is. I'm probably just as sick of it as you are - I complain to boyfriend every single day! And you know what? Instead of the 4 years, I'm doing 6, too, for the SAME reason. Sometimes I still have doubts, but I can't waste anymore time and money, so must.. keep.. trudging. Good luck with everything!

Catfish I'm proud of you. This hard work will pay off. Look at it in the context of your whole life and this time spent will be a drop in the bucket. When your old like me you will see how fast time flies.
I'm 55 with a 22 year old son. I beg him to study but he would rather rockclimb and adventure race. I am talking to a thick head. Soooo I'm telling you also...study and get through this...it won't take forever.
I'll say a little prayer for your kitty.. good luck friend.

Kathy that goes ditto for you sis....your almost there don't give up. How's the cutest little man doing?

I keep studying, but it seems to happen all at one time doesnt it?

I've got 2 more parts left on my take home test. and I am almost finished studying for my exams tomorrow.

My cat went back to the vet today, he's got suppressed lung sounds in each lung now. X-rays showed some hazy areas in both lungs which could be early signs of pnemonia. He also is showing signs of a herpes virus outbreak in his mouth. He was nebulized 2 times and sent home with an injection to lower his temperature.

This evening he vomited and has continued to have difficulty breathing. He is not feeling well and doesn't want to eat. he is now back up at the hospital for observation and nebulization treatment every 6 hours. They don't want to do IV fluids yet, but they may start oxygen therapy.

At least none of the other cats are sick yet and none of my birds are sick so I should count my blessings. I'm just upset b/c it's one of my babies. I did wet to dry bandages every day for a month while bottle feeding him. I raised this cat and now he is sick.

Peg leg is in ICU on IV fluids due to uncontrolled drooling. He has an appetite and his temperature has been good. He's still getting nebulized every 8 hours. He's still coughing and we can't figure out what excatly is causing the drooling. He does have some ulcers on his tongue and his tonsils are slightly swollen. All 3 doctors working on my cat are stumped as to the cause of this, but feel confident he will be okay. There is a slight risk of it being heart related but the radiographs look okay for now. . . hopefully he will continue to get better and be out by tomorrow. We are now at $330, so it's not too bad.

oh but one of my other cats is now sneezing, so he has been started on meds. thank G-d I work there and can just pay off a little each month w/ the help of my sister since we share these cats

Catfish are you OK? This is alot to worry about. He wouldn't have eaten some of a plant in the house would he.?

I'm doing okay. i trust my vets and the ICU techs, plus they know it's my cat and so he is getting extra attention :D

no plants are kept in the house since my sister has a 3 yr old and there are no chemicals used.

We did adopt a kitten about 3 weeks ago that was kept by some friends for about a month. he has bee vaccinated and given a clean bill of health. Incubation time of a viral infection is 2 weeks, so it is possible he brought a virus with him.....it's all very frustrating.

Thanks Mem! Nemo's doing great. He's been chit chatting a lot lately :) And I've been super busy, thus the lack of presence (and posts) on TP.

Catfish--
What a stressful time it is for you. Hope things only go uphill from here on.
