MEEE!!

I bought:

Large colorful buttons, assorted sizes of wooden round dowels, Sisal rope, jumbo craft sticks, quick link fastener type things, pony beads, paper shred, vinyl tubing (1/2 in), stainless steel wire, awesome baby toys from the baby aisle like "Bright Starts Lots of Links", Garanimals mini O balls, and a mini Beebo handheld bead play toy.

Can't wait to get started!! I'll take pics and see if I can get a photobucket account started.

Oh great, I have a feeling this new little baby might get spoiled? :) Sounds like a lot of good stuff, please show us how it all turns out. Isn't this fun?:p

Totally fun and I plan to spoil him/her rotten!! That's my style with my animals :) I have a 6 year old Boston Terrier that is the absolute world to me. My parakeet Pickles really isn't interested in me but I love him to no end.

I'm having an issue making a boing with beading the pony beads onto the wire and stuffing it down into the 1/2 clear tubing. How do people that make these boings keep the beads from coming off the wire? I folded the wire over but then it was too thick to go through the tube. Beads went flying everywhere in my office. Hilarious!!

I took pics of what I bought so as soon as I can register a photobucket account then I'll upload.

For the boing... yes, it is too big when you fold it over to get into the tubing. I got big wooden beads (the ones from drsfosterandsmith.com work just perfect) to cover that up and I don't worry about the birds chewing at the ends of the vinyl. But when I fold it over, it makes a nice hook for using hemp or cotton bird rope to tie it to and then use the fastener for.

My problem is that I must have gotten too narrow of tubing bc when I feed the beaded wire through the tubing it's really hard to do. I'm still working on shoving it down there and I'm only about 3/4 of the way through. I got 1/2 in in diameter, should I have gotten 3/4 maybe?

I used 1/2 inch, but I didn't use the pony beads inside the tubing... I used some other beads. I did use the pony beads to help "plug" on the ends of the tubing to further prevent the birds from attempting to pull or get at the stuff inside the tubing.

That is the fun part, spoiling them!! I love to craft but I see so many neat things at the pet store as well...I was talking to my p'let today, HmmHmmm, I can openly say that on this forum and not be ridiculed :D, and I was telling him how I am going to buy him that Disco ball for his cage LOL.... so I started singing 'Disco, Disco Duck' to him....eventually he'll be singing along with me...I just know it! hahaha.

So Yes, spoiling is so much fun!! Love your work Melissa!
