Penny & the Celery Stalk

Penny has an odd behavior that I'm curious if anyone's P'let does this or anything similar?

She has a fascination with Celery leaves and will play with and chew on them.

I first thought this was a bathing thing she was doing -you hear of Budgies that like to bathe in wet vegetable leaves- but I don't think this is what she's doing as she keeps it up too long and performs too many acrobatic/weird moves with it.

Last night she took it a step further and was trying to fly off with the celery stalk by grasping it with her feet - her goal was to put it into the water dish.
It was too heavy and she couldn't manage it - so eventually she broke a bit off dragged it to the water dish and proceeded to bite it into little chunks and drop those into the water.

Her behavior resembles that of when she is bathing but she isn't and doesn't get wet - she's gets all fluffy and flaps her wings wildly - She will roll around with the Celery, flipping it all over the place and climbing around and under it.

Last night she was doing leg presses with it and at one point seemed like she was choking herself as she wasn't pushing it up but instead pulling it towards her neck - and I had to end her game by taking the Celery away.

Poor Rupert just watches her not knowing what she is doing.

She then drags it to the water after failing at her attempts to fly with

She try's flying it into the water - one leg on the bowl and the other on the Celery Stalk -

She succeeds and proceeds to dunk the Stalk into the water -

Then bites bits off it and drops them into the water -

Goes to a clean towel to clean herself. Rupert helps with this chore -

Pado - you win the prize....these pictures are extraordinary...I'm sitting her laughing out loud with Penny on her back doing her "presses". Absolutely hilarious. at first when I read part of your description, I was wondering if she was trying to drag the pieces to make a nest. But I'm wondering if it's something like the budgies with the wet leaves and possibly just something that she thoroughly enjoys (obviously by the pics). :) After an absolutely crazy day, these pics lifted my spirits. Well done and thank you :D

Those photos are CRAZY cute! WOW! Not sure what is going on, my guess is she is wanting to bathe, but the pressing the celery...I do not know!

Chipper loves to eat celery. It is so crunchy!

Those pictures are so cute!! Penny sure has a bubbly personality. It's so cute when she is finished with what she is doing with the celery, that Rupert takes off with her. They are so bonded and a perfect pair. :)
